Small Things Worth Making
A sample note about starting before an idea becomes important enough to be intimidating.

There is a category of idea that becomes less likely to happen the more seriously I take it. Once I have decided that something should be good, it quietly acquires a launch plan, a theory of itself, and several reasons not to begin today.
Small things escape that trap.
A dinner for six people. A one-page website. A magic routine tried once in a room above a bar. A short note written because the thought is here now and might not be tomorrow.
None of these has to announce a new identity. They only have to exist.
The useful size of an experiment
The right size is probably smaller than my ambition and larger than my excuse. It should matter enough to finish, but not so much that every decision becomes evidence about who I am.
That is one hope for this website: a place where thoughts and attempts can be real before they are definitive.
If one of them grows, good. If not, there will at least be a small thing where before there was only an intention.
